• Overview


    The new RockWare GIS Link allows you to generate RockWorks cross-sections, profiles, fence diagrams, 2D borehole strip-logs, contour maps (ground surface and structural elevations) and isopach maps using the ESRI ArcMap software (contained in ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo) and RockWorks.

    A simple toolbar installed into ArcMap lets you access and use the power of the RockWorks engine to produce high quality drawings within ArcMap.

  • Toolbar in ArcMap


     

    Rockware GIS Link installs as a toolbar (both floating and in the menu bar) in your ArcMap application.

    This controls:

    • the import of RockWorks borehole data into the ArcMap geodatabase
    • the generation of Sections, Profiles and Fence diagrams
    • the generation of Contour and Isopach maps
    • the generation of 2D borehole striplogs

    Import your RockWorks borehole locations as a layer in an ArcMap geodatabase.

  • Create Profiles and Sections


     

    Use the RockWorks "engine" to create prfiles and/or sections from any of the following data types:

    • StripLogs
    • Lithology
    • Stratigraphy
    • Interval (I)-Data
    • Point (P)-Data

     

    Simply create the trace lines for your profile or section by clicking the main points:

    Then generate your stratigraphic cross section:

    To help you define your Section lines the Point Snapping Tool lets you snap to the closest borehole or well location.

  • Create 3D Fence diagrams


     

    Create 3D Fence Diagrams using the RockWorks "engine" and any of the following data sets:

    • StripLogs
    • Lithology
    • Stratigraphy
    • Interval (I)-Data
    • Point (P)-Data

    The fence diagram generated using the data and lines shown in the left panel. This shows the stratigrapohic fences based on borehole data plus the location and extent of the boreholes.

  • Create Maps and StripLogs


     

    Create line or colour-filled contour maps of ground surface elevations or formation tops. The resulting map is displayed as a DXF layer in ArcMap. Contour Map generated in ArcMap
    Isopach Map generated in ArcMap Create isopach maps of individual formations or adjacent stratigraphic layers.
